Gabriella Alberoni has recently been nominated for the Shoprite Checkers SABC2 Woman of the Year Award 2008 in the Business category, for outstanding work/project. Her branding prowess has been applied with great success to eco-ventures like Greendrinks, as well providing the branding collateral and the look and feel for Hybrid Living. She is also the creator, co-host and executive producer for Hybrid Living on SABC3. She has been in the branding industry since 1993, after graduating in the top 5 with honours, and has since been working as a strategic branding designer. Her company, Brandgurus, has been focusing on providing strategic branding and design solutions for many blue-chip clients, such as Southern Sun, McCain, Ster Kinekor, Imperial and Canderel.
She is also the co-founder of the successful eco-venture, Carbon d’ Afreeque (www.carbonfree.co.za), that specialises in creating eco-accessories and products from recycled PVC billboard skins. Irvan Damon is the co-founder and partner in Carbon d’ Afreeque, a specialist eco-entrepreneurship company, specialising in re-cycling reclaimed advertising billboards into high-end eco-accessories. He holds an MASocSci (UCT Environmental Policymaking), Petroleum Policy Eco Dipl (Wits Business School) and an MPhilEng (UCT, EDRC open thesis). Irvan also hosts Greendrinks in Gauteng, a green network that meets once a month to exchange views around issues affecting our planet on a local and international level. Most recently, his eco-venture, Carbon d’ Afreeque (www.carbonfree.co.za), has been nominated for the Real Simple Green Innovation Awards. He is also the creator, co-host and executive producer of Hybrid Living, an TV show made possible by Toyota Prius and Lexus. Hybrid Living is an eco-lifestyle show showcasing how you can still live a greener lifestyle without having to give up the earth.
